Meet Devonte
My Name Is Devonte Waller, and I am wedding and automotive photographer and filmmaker based out of Lynchburg, Virginia. I love pizza, Thrift stores, skateboarding, Disney, vintage cameras, and my girlfriend of course. I’ve always found myself being visually creative in someway, shape, or form. At a young age I fell in love with art and started drawing but I eventually found out about digital art and graphic design and I found myself spending all of my time learning new things to create something great. I then found my love for photography. I always enjoyed playing around with cameras to make skateboarding videos but I eventually got my first DSLR for my 17th birthday and it started out as just a way to take better pictures at the car shows my dad and I went to but as I got into it more I wanted to do so much more. So I started to do more car shoots but I soon found myself also developing a passion for taking photos of other people. Its something about capturing someones natural essence or love story that’s so great to me.
I love to provide my clients with photos and films that will give them ever lasting memories for years to come. I value stories and experiences. Anyone can take a good photograph these days, but my focus is to foster an experience for my clients that creates comfort, evokes emotion, uncovers a relationship, and tells a story. I’m a lover of authentic, candid moments, and images that represent that. Forget the traditional poses and anything cliché. My goal is to capture the raw, the messy, the genuine emotion, tears and belly laughs, and everything in between.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually in front of my girlfriends camera haha but you can also find me somewhere watching Good Bones or Disney with her while eating pizza and popcorn, somewhere at the skatepark, or at some old antique shop/thrift store hunting for old cameras.
I'll be the first to say that I'm not the photographer for everyone. I'm for those who love the in between moments that show your true story, who prefer mood over technically correct, who stray from the traditional and like to be adventurous, and who aren't afraid to run around or hike a mountain side to get a killer shot.
